UCO is a rental and service provider specializing in machinery and rig services for professional users in construction, civil engineering, industry and public enterprises. Utleiecompagniet AS was established as a separate limited company in May 2002, with UCO as the registered trademark. UCO has its origins in Selmer Maskinutleie, established in 1997.

With many manual systems and a lot of telephone and e-mail, it was difficult to have a good overview of what was to be rented out when and to whom. This meant many working hours just having control over all customers, rental lists and products.
