When ambition and fun go hand-in-hand

Natalie came to Aarhus to study Finance and International Business at Aarhus BSS. Soon after sending an application to DynamicWeb, she had a chat with the CFO, Bjarne, who was sure they had more to talk about and called her back.

“When hiring Natalie, I knew I wanted someone ambitious and I was impressed with her attitude and engagement from day one,” says CFO, Bjarne Hansen. 

Natalie also recalls the first meeting with DynamicWeb.

"I remember being very excited about getting the offer from Bjarne and also very impatient. I couldn’t wait to get started and show why he made the right choice by hiring me," she explains. 

Their intuition was right, and Natalie quickly found her place in the Finance team. 

"Honestly, working at DynamicWeb has been fun from day one. I found myself right at home, especially having the unlimited trust I experience from Bjarne, and that I am encouraged to influence my tasks," Natalie says. 

"We are always encouraged to come up with new ideas on how to optimize what we do, in order to keep improving the way we work. This motivates me to take full responsibility of my tasks, and go the extra mile," Natalie explains. 

Short after being in charge of salaries, debtors, reports, and general business administration, Natalie proved herself capable of more.

“Natalie has a great eye for detail, which is essential to get the payroll out on time. Aside from this, she can handle complex information and processes from a business perspective, which is how I knew she would make a good business controller. I believe you need to master the basics, before being able to analyze complex data, and having accounting skills will definitely get you there", Bjarne explains. 

Today, Natalie is considered a critical member of the team. "It was only fair that her dedication to her work did not go unnoticed," says Bjarne.

Her efforts was soon after her start rewarded with a promotion from Payroll Specialist and Accountant to Business Controller. 

"The title was basically just a way to define my new responsibilities, but I am impressed with how fast and easy it has been to form a way into a new role,“ she encloses. 

This new role means that she is now responsible for overseeing some of the financial operations of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. 

“Luckily, I have a team around me who appreciates my deep involvement, also when that means worrying a little too much or being upset about when things don’t work out as planned," Natalie humbly admits. 

"Honestly, we laugh at how we sometimes get carried away with certain tasks. Because working in Finance means that you can get carried away with for example VAT, excel reports and balance sheets. I mean, I do hear how crazy that sounds," she laughs.

The same example of hard work, dedication, and commitment comes across in the activities outside working hours, where Natalie is most often to be found part-taking in Friday bars and sports events.

“I think it is important to have fun outside of the office, and getting to know your colleagues only makes it more fun to go to work. I also don’t mind pushing boundaries or trying something new like stand-up padel, playing padel tennis, or attending music festivals,” she explains.

“These activities create a special bond that goes a little further than what I would have expected and hoped for in a workplace, which makes me thrive in this job.”

“We still laugh about the time we went stand-up paddling, and we all kind of waited for the first person to hit the water, face down – it was Bjarne of course. This is just the best example of how he is part of creating the work environment where you can be yourself and don’t have to fear standing out,” Natalie says.
